6-10’ same broad dense highly ornamental shrub, becoming open and attractively irregular. Pink buds open to masses of fragrant white ¾” flowers. Deeply veined light green foliage with very fine fuzz (tomentosa) lining each vein underneath. Very tasty but variable tart scarlet ½” fruit for pies and jams. Two or three berries will provide your vitamin C for the day. Excellent hedge plant; prefers full sun in well-drained soil. This is an edible landscape crop that produces a lot of fruit that actually is edible. Covering the plants with netting will deter the birds from stealing your crop. Plant two or more for pollination. 12-18”
